Short answer: yes. The Pillsbury Club is not a place you wander into off 22nd Street, and that is deliberate. Here is exactly how a visit works, so there are no surprises at the door.

The Club is reservation-only

The Pillsbury Club is open exclusively to guests holding a valid reservation — for a tour, a dining experience, an event, or another scheduled activity. Admission is limited to ticketed and reserved guests, which is how we keep the mansion feeling like a private house rather than a queue. You may be asked to show proof of your reservation when you arrive.

The Club describes itself as a private, members-style club, and reservations are required in advance. In practice that means the thing you book is your admission: reserve a tour, a table or an experience, and you are in. You can book online, or contact us directly at info@pillsburyclub.com.

Arrive 30 to 45 minutes early — really

This is the single piece of advice we give most often, and the one guests thank us for afterwards. Come 30 to 45 minutes before your reservation. It gives you time to check in, wander the historic rooms, and settle in before anything is scheduled to start.

A lot of people find their favourite part of the evening happens in that margin — before or after the thing they actually booked, when there is no clock running and they are just standing in a room that came out of an English manor house.

What else is in the building while you are here

• The Market. A curated shop of Minnesota-made products, artisan goods, local artwork, specialty gifts and souvenirs. Worth ten minutes before you go.
• The historic dining room. Designed for entertaining during the Gilded Age and still one of the most impressive rooms in the house. Current menus are on our dining page.

Parking is free, and there is more of it than you think

Complimentary parking is available for Club guests. There is a designated guest lot directly across the street, and free public street parking on the surrounding neighbourhood streets where permitted — do read the posted signs, as the Club is not responsible for cars parked on public streets.

If you would rather not drive, rideshare drop-off and pick-up is at the front entrance, and Metro Transit bus routes serve the surrounding Whittier neighbourhood. The Minneapolis Institute of Art is a short walk away if you are making an afternoon of it.

A few house rules

• Casual personal photos during your visit are welcome, as long as they do not disrupt other guests, staff, tours or dining service.
• Any planned or staged shoot — engagement photos, portraits, brand content, or anything involving professional equipment — needs a photography reservation.
• Smoking and vaping are prohibited anywhere on the property.
• Outside food and drink are not permitted inside the Club.
